About Me
My name is Matti Mattila and I have been working in information technology for more than 25 years. I started with programming software for personal computers back in early 1980’s. Since then I have had constant interest in computer science and have explored the branch quite thoroughly at this point. I had my first experience with global networks when I joined CompuServe community and started working globally in the early days of 1990’s. In the middle of the century other members started discussing about another network, which would be free and even more widespread than CompuServe’s private network. That new competitive network they were discussing about was Internet. Among others I also quit my account at CompuServe and rushed onto the new global network of computers.
I soon discovered that Internet would be my new working area. So I started to explore new techniques and standards, such as HyperText Markup Language and cascading style sheets. After couple of years study I set up my first website and have built some for my customers as well. Working on the Internet is not only surfing around and setting up fancy websites. It serves my hobbies too as I like photography and taking pictures.
My Hobbies
Many of my websites are hobbies and related to photography. I have collected some of my travel pictures I have taken all around the world and put them on display at Northwalk Travel Photos. Some pictures are photo objects, which I have on display at Deerwind Images. I also have Snapover Photography Portal, which provides everything in digital photography, such as camera store, news, tools, blog, and other related sections.
